Techpedition Podcast — Pure Cheese, Lost In Translation

Techpedition Podcast S02E07 – Pure Cheese, Lost In Translation

Before diving into the Nintendo Switch presser, we talk about the new Spider-Man animated movie, as well as an upcoming dedicated Windows 10 gaming mode. We review the new game releases and dive into a brief discussion of Rocket League and Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles China in What We’re Playing. Then we talk Power Rangers, Mummy, and Logan trailers, but not before giving our thoughts on the weird Nintendo Switch event. Hosted by Kary Brown and Clarence Brown.

More About The Techpedition Podcast

The official Techpedition Podcast has just been JJ Abramed! Well, em, not really. The reboot is well underway, but unlike the aforementioned director, we are keeping the cast. Look for new shows monthly, as we reboot our beloved podcast, bringing back the old familiar faces, with a little bit of new, in a rotating two to three man format. The mission is the same: random technology, gaming, comic, movie, television, and anime ramblings and entertainment from the Techpedition pundits. Welcome to what we are calling, season two!

  • He-Man’s back! …sorta
This Argentinian Visa commercial is sure to fulfill your nostalgic He-Man dreams. A must see for He-Man fans everywhere. Yay ’80s!
  • Netflix goes disc-less across all consoles.

Finally the stupidity of needing a disc to enjoy Netflix goodness is over for Playstion 3 and Nintendo Wii owners. Firmware updates are abound to enjoy the streaming service natively.
  • Verizon iPad, October 28th

Apple iPad will soon be available on Verizon. An although native 3G is not supported yet (sold with a Mi-Fi device), this looks to be a precursor to the inevitableness of the iPhone showing up on the carrier.
  • Skype meet Facebook

With Facebook integration running rabid, this isn’t much of a surprise. With the latest version of Skype on Windows, there is now Facebook contact integration.
  • Spider-Man reboot equals Lizard?

Rumors are everywhere and it looks like they are pointing to the new Spider-Man reboot having Dr. Conners being portrayed by Rhys Ifans with Lizard being the main antagonist.

LinkDump 01.23.10

Another interesting week in the world of technology is coming to a close. And while in my opinion, nothing truly groundbreaking has transpired. There have been quite a few things that have peaked my interest. Check out my weekly LinkDump below.

A-Team 2010

  • A-Team Trailer Doesn’t Impress
The new trailer for the reboot of the 1980’s beloved A-Team has been release. Not sure if I’ll be seeing this one in theaters. Trailer is impressive until the last 15 seconds. Can anyone say A-Joe, ugh.
  • Apple Event Announced, Now What
The much awaited Apple Event has been set in stone and rumors continue to run ramped about an apple tablet. Not sure if that’s what we are going to get, but seems this will be one to remember.
  • Ultimate Spider-Man Movie Confirmed
Didn’t want to originally believe it, but Sam Rami is out, Marc Web is in. Spider-Man 4 is no more, but the Spider-Man reboot is a go.
  • Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection To iPhone
Another platform to consume Genesis greatness, not much else to say.
